Normal Maintenance It is important that any water treatment system be properly maintained to ensure water quality. The instructions below are of a general nature. Refer to the installation instructions provided with your ASI system for information specifically related to the model you purchased. Un-screw the systems housings and always lubricate the sump 0-ring with petroleum jelly to ensure a proper seal and easy removal next time maintenance is needed.. Quartz Sleeve: The quartz sleeve and the inside of the system should be cleaned each time filters are changed. The presence of iron or poor water quality will require frequent inspection and cleaning. Clean all parts except the filters and electronic parts with soap and water. Do Not Attempt to Remove Quartz Sleeve. Damage to the system and personal injury may occur. Contact your dealer if the quartz sleeve is broken or needs replacement.FILTER REPLACEMENT: Filters will normally last from four to six months. Filter life will vary due to water conditions. A reduced flow rate or deteriorating water quality indicates that filters must be changed. Use only ASI filters. ASI filters are specially designed to work in the ultraviolet disinfection process. Use of non-ASI filters voids the warranty. To change filters, turn off water and remove the sump by twisting it counterclockwise, use a sump wrench if necessary. Discard the old filter and replace with a new ASI filter. Lubricate the sump 0-ring with petroleum jelly to ensure a proper seal. Twist the sump clockwise to tighten onto the system. Use caution when changing the filters to avoid breaking the quartz sleeve in the UV chamber. LAMP REPLACEMENT: Lamps must be changed every 9000 hours or once a year. Lamps rarely burn out, but they do lose their disinfection power. To change the lamp, remove the control box by removing the four screws at the base of the control box and lift box straight up to avoid breaking the old lamp. Remove the lamp from the plug and replace with a new lamp. Touch only the ends of the lamp Fingerprints on the glass will reduce the lamp's effectiveness. Slide the lamp back into the sleeve and tighten the screws on the control box. CT 100 and US 100 Systems are different, refer to instructions.
